Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how MyJury works.

What is MyJury? +

MyJury is a community-powered app that helps photographers make difficult decisions about their images. Whether you're choosing between edits, preparing for a competition, building a portfolio, or deciding what to share online, MyJury gives you honest, anonymous feedback through simple community voting.

How does MyJury work? +

There are three steps:

  1. Upload a photo or comparison.
  2. Other photographers vote anonymously.
  3. View community results and make your decision with confidence.
Is MyJury free to use? +

Yes. Voting on other photographers' images is completely free. Submitting your own photos requires credits. You receive a free credit when you sign up, and you earn more by voting. Credit packs are also available for purchase if you need more submissions.

What types of submissions can I make? +

There are two submission types:

  • Single Image Review — Submit one photo and ask whether the community would post it, enter it in a competition, include it in a portfolio, exhibit it, or buy it as a print.
  • Comparison Review — Upload two versions side by side and ask the community to choose between them.
Can I compare two versions of a photo? +

Yes. You can upload two images and ask the community to choose between them. Comparison types include:

  • Color vs Black & White
  • Different edits
  • Different crops
  • Different photos
  • Any other comparison
Can people see my submitted photos? +

No. Submitted images are used only for the evaluation process and are not displayed in public user profiles or shared outside the platform. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how your images are stored and handled.

Are votes anonymous? +

Yes. Voting is completely anonymous. Photographers cannot see who voted on their image, and voters cannot see who submitted an image during the evaluation period. This ensures images are judged on their own merit.

Why is judging anonymous? +

Anonymous judging reduces bias and ensures that images are evaluated based on their quality rather than the photographer's identity, popularity, or reputation. You get an honest opinion, not a social favour.

How does MyJury prevent fake voting? +

MyJury runs an automated anti-fraud engine that monitors for vote spikes, speed-click patterns, and coordinated voting behaviour. Suspicious votes are flagged for review and accounts found to be gaming the system are suspended.

How do I earn submission credits? +

You earn credits by voting on other photographers' submissions. Once you reach the required number of votes, a credit is automatically added to your balance. You can also earn a credit by watching a rewarded advertisement within the app.

Can I purchase additional submissions? +

Yes. Additional submission packs (10, 20, and 50 submissions) are available for purchase directly within the app. Localized pricing and currency conversions are handled by the App Store and Google Play.

Can I get a refund on purchased credits? +

Credit purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Refunds are handled by those platforms under their respective policies. Credits that have already been spent on submissions cannot be refunded. Please contact Apple or Google support for purchase-related issues.

Can people see my profile? +

This depends on your profile visibility setting. You can choose between:

  • Public — Visible to everyone
  • Community Only — Visible to logged-in users
  • Hidden — Profile completely hidden
What information appears on public profiles? +

Public profiles may display your display name, join date, country (optional), contribution badges, votes cast, and community impact statistics. Submitted images are never displayed on profiles.

What are contribution badges? +

Contribution badges recognise users who actively help the community by voting on photographs. They are awarded based on total votes cast:

  • Contributor — 100 votes
  • Dedicated Juror — 1,000 votes
  • Expert Contributor — 5,000 votes
  • Community Pillar — 10,000 votes
  • Legend — 50,000 votes
Is there a limit to how many photos I can submit? +

Yes. To prevent spam and maintain a high-quality voting queue, the number of simultaneously active submissions you can have is based on your community participation (lifetime votes cast):

  • Under 100 votes (No badge) — Max 3 active submissions
  • 100–999 votes (Contributor) — Max 5 active submissions
  • 1,000–4,999 votes (Dedicated Juror) — Max 10 active submissions
  • 5,000–9,999 votes (Expert Contributor) — Max 15 active submissions
  • 10,000+ votes (Community Pillar & Legend) — Max 20 active submissions

Purchased credits never expire. If you buy a credit bundle (e.g. 50 credits), you can upload the remaining photos as soon as your active submissions finish their voting cycle and close naturally, or by increasing your limit tier through voting.

Does having a badge increase my voting power? +

No. Badges are recognition only and do not affect the weight of your votes. Every vote counts equally regardless of badge level.

What is a Verified Photographer? +

Verified Photographer is a recognition badge awarded to photographers whose identity, portfolio, or professional background has been reviewed and approved. Verification does not increase voting power.

How do I delete my account? +

You can request account deletion from the Profile section of the app, or by contacting us at privacy@myjuryapp.com. Deletion removes your account, submitted photos, and personal data from our systems. Aggregated, anonymised vote data may be retained to preserve the integrity of community statistics.
