These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MyJury mobile application and website (the "Service"), operated by MyJury ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.
2. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate and current information when registering.
- You may not create multiple accounts or impersonate other users.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload photographs that you do not own or have the right to submit.
- Upload photographs containing nudity, explicit sexual content, graphic violence, or illegal material.
- Upload photographs depicting minors in any inappropriate context.
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
- Manipulate jury results through vote brigading, coordinated voting, or sockpuppet accounts.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to deliver verdicts or interact with the platform.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Sell, transfer, or commercially exploit your account or credits outside the app.
4. Your Content
4.1 Licence to Operate the Service
You retain ownership of all photographs you upload. By uploading images to MyJury, you confirm that you own the rights to the content or have permission to submit it. By submitting content to the Service, you grant MyJury a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:
- Store, process, and display your photographs to jurors within the app for the purpose of community review and voting.
- Generate and display resized, anonymised preview versions of your images.
- Display aggregated, anonymised submission statistics within the app.
This base licence is solely for operating the Service — we will not sell, licence, or use your photographs for any external or promotional purpose under it. By submitting, you also confirm that you agree to your image's anonymous display for community review. This licence terminates when you delete the relevant content or your account (subject to the retention period described in Section 11 and our Privacy Policy).
4.2 Promotional Usage (Separate, Optional, Revocable)
Separately from the licence above, and only if you explicitly opt in via the "Promotional Usage" toggle in Settings → Privacy & Permissions, you grant MyJury an additional, revocable licence to feature your submitted images in marketing materials, social media, website content, and promotional campaigns. This additional licence is off by default, can be switched on or off at any time, and withdrawing it stops future use — though previously published materials may not be retractable. 5. Credit System
- Credits are virtual items with no cash value and cannot be refunded or exchanged for real currency.
- In-app credit purchases are processed by Apple or Google and are subject to their respective refund policies.
- Credits earned through jury activity are granted at our discretion and may be adjusted if fraudulent behaviour is detected.
- We reserve the right to modify credit pricing, earning rates, or the credit system with reasonable notice.
- Active submissions limits apply to control queue quality and prevent spam. The number of concurrent active submissions is determined by your community participation level (lifetime votes cast), as detailed in our FAQ. Credits never expire, and purchased packages can be submitted in full as active slots become available.
6. Verdicts and Feedback
Verdicts delivered through the Service represent the opinions of individual jurors and do not constitute professional photographic advice. MyJury does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or fairness of any individual verdict. Scores and rankings are calculated algorithmically based on aggregated weighted verdicts.
You agree to deliver honest, considered verdicts when acting as a juror. Deliberately misleading verdicts, speed-clicking, or patterns consistent with fraud may result in account suspension and removal of earned credits.
7. Prohibited Content
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful, offensive, or in violation of applicable law. Repeated violations may result in permanent account termination.
8. Intellectual Property
The MyJury name, logo, app design, ranking algorithms, and all other proprietary elements of the Service are owned by MyJury and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MyJury shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of credits, or damage to your device.
11. Termination and Deletion
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine to be harmful to the Service or its community.
You may delete individual submissions, or your entire account, at any time through the app's Settings screen — submissions can be removed independently of your account. When you do, the content is hidden immediately and permanently deleted, including associated images, within 30 days (see our Privacy Policy for full detail on this retention window). Upon account termination or deletion, your licence to use the Service ends immediately.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the jurisdiction where MyJury operates.
